Students reached one of their fundraising goals for our walk-a-thon! Because they raised $10,000.00, they got to slime Mrs. Collison at the school assembly this morning!

A big thank you to Officer Leonard for being our Grand Marshall for today’s events! The student who was the top fundraiser in their grade level went for a ride with Officer Leonard to start each walk!

What an amazing day! Shout out to all of our volunteers, Officer Leonard, and PTA! We couldn’t have done this without you! And to all of our families who supported this annual fundraiser! Together we raised over $19,000.00!

Our third graders took a walk to a local park to conduct field research on playground safety for a writing assignment. After filling out a safety report card at the park, they then conducted a safety check on our new playground here at school. Now they are creating an argumentative writing piece to state their findings and why it is or is not safe. What a great real world opportunity to apply the skills they are learning!

Our local Optimist Club delivered a dictionary to each 3rd grade student today! This is part of "The Dictionary Project" our local unit has participated in since 2008. We appreciate the opportunity to provide every student with their very own dictionary! Thank you!

Kindergarten students have been learning about maps and direction words. This week they learned how to use the coding app Scratch Jr. so they can demonstrate direction words. "The cat is ABOVE the house."

Our agenda for Monday includes:
✔️ evaluating student data to plan informed, instructional decisions
✔️ partnering with team members to design strategies that increase collaboration & engagement among students
✔️ working vertically with grade level teams to improve lesson planning and instruction
