Honoring Original Austin Elementary

The original Austin Elementary served the students of Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD for 70 years. We have decided to retire this page to honor the history and memories made within the original Austin Elementary walls.🦅💜

The 2023-2024 school year will bring a new age of education to PBTISD. Only 1st grade is moving to the new Austin Elementary, and 2nd and 3rd grade will be in the new Zavala Elementary! Give the new pages a like and follow to stay up-to-date with our new campuses.👍🏻

Not only was today the last day of school, but today we said farewell to Austin Elementary!! We have made many great memories in this building and we have served many generations of students.
We are excited about the school year ahead and can’t wait to be in our brand new school!

We had a great week celebrating our teachers at Austin Elementary for Teacher Appreciation Week!! Teachers play a critical role in driving the success of our student’s education and lives. They are the ones who inspire and empower our kids to become future leaders, innovators and problem solvers.

We celebrated with a a different theme each day!

Austin Elementary 2nd graders send a BIG THANK YOU to PDC Energy and the Wish For Wheels organization for providing every 2nd grader a new bike!! We had an amazing day!! Thank you for choosing our school and students! PDC Energy volunteers showed up early and built 210 bikes on site this morning and this afternoon they met our second grade students and helped them pick out a bike, adjust the seat and helmet and helped them ride!!
