🍎✏️ BACK-TO-SCHOOL WISHLIST! 📚🧩

Back-to-school season is officially here at Learn with Lex, and our kiddos have definitely put our learning materials to WORK! 😂❤️

As we head into a new school year, we’re hoping to refresh some of our most-used supplies and learning tools. Many of our manipulatives, sensory materials, fine-motor tools, and educational resources are starting to break or wear out from being loved and used every single day.

One of our biggest goals is also to get a new sensory table and tools. Sensory play is such an important part of what we do—it gives our kids opportunities to regulate, explore, build fine-motor skills, practice communication, and LEARN through play. Our last one was well loved!

We’ve updated our Amazon Back-to-School Wishlist with items that will go directly into the hands of our kiddos. 🥹

Learn with Lex is independently funded, so even purchasing one small item from our list makes a difference. There is absolutely no pressure to purchase—sharing our wishlist helps us just as much! 💙

Today is one of those days that makes your heart feel so full and a little broken at the same time. 🥹💙

Our Carter and Joey are officially off to KINDERGARTEN! 🎒✏️🍎

It feels like just yesterday they were our little guys learning, growing, finding their voices, building confidence, and showing us exactly who they are. And somehow, we blinked… and now they’re walking into this huge new chapter. 🥺

We are so incredibly proud of how far these two have come. Not just academically, but in all of the little things that matter so much—the independence they’ve gained, the friendships they’ve built, the challenges they’ve worked through, and the confidence they’ve found along the way.

Carter and Joey, we hope you always know just how many people are standing behind you, cheering you on. We hope kindergarten brings you teachers who see all the wonderful things we see in you, friends who make you laugh until your belly hurts, and so many opportunities to learn just how capable you are. 💙

Watching our kiddos grow up is the hardest and most beautiful part of what we do. We get to love them, teach them, celebrate every tiny victory…and then eventually, we have to watch them spread those little wings. 🥹

Once a Learn with Lex kiddo, always a Learn with Lex kiddo. 💙

Practicing name recognition helps in a few important ways—mostly because it supports early literacy, attention, confidence, and fine motor skills.

📖 Building early literacy skills: Recognizing the letters in their name is an easy, meaningful way to start noticing letter shapes, letter order, and that print carries meaning. Many names help kids see letter-sound connections (for example, “S” often sounds like /s/). That awareness later transfers to reading other words.

🚨 Boosts independence at school: Being able to find their cubby, artwork, books, or labels reduces frustration and helps them manage routines.

💃🏻 Helps with social identity and belonging: Knowing and using their name can reinforce self-identity and comfort in group settings.

📝 Develops fine-motor readiness: Tracing, copying, and attempting their name builds hand control and coordination needed for later writing.
