Stevenson School Stevenson School is a Pre-K-12 boarding and day school with two campuses on California’s scenic Monterey Peninsula.

Our Lower and Middle Divisions are at our Carmel campus (Pre-K-8), while the Upper Division (9-12) is located on our Pebble Beach campus. Founded in 1952, Stevenson School is an independent school that serves 240 day students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 at the Carmel campus and 510 boarding and day students in grades nine through 12 on the Pebble Beach campus.

Meet Peyton S. ’27!

📍Hometown: Monterey, Calif.

🏫What is one of your favorite spaces on campus?
One of my favorite spaces on campus is the Rosen Family Student Center lounge because I can do homework and hang out with my friends anytime of the day.

🍞What is your favorite dining hall meal?
The pulled pork sandwiches with FLIK chips and a mac n cheese bar. And finishing it off with ice cream.

🌟What is something new you've tried at Stevenson?
Softball. Going into my freshman year, I had never played before; then I ended up making varsity that same year and became the starting first baseman. I ended up loving the sport and I am so happy I tried it!

📚What has been your favorite class?
I took Ceramics for two years and it was so fun! I got to create unique pieces that I gifted to friends and family and learned a new skill.

💚What is something you love about Stevenson?
The support from the community. When I was going through physical therapy, all of the teachers were so understanding of my schedule, and the communication was quick and mutual. I was offered learning support and extra time, and I utilized support options such as the math table and extra help. These really helped me stay on top of my work and gave me the grace I needed to work through my injuries.

🏫What is one of your favorite spaces on campus?
Morgan Pool, I have the best memories there!

🌟What is something new you've tried at Stevenson?
I tried water polo for the first time my freshman year and it was the best thing I've ever done.

📚What has been your favorite class?
My favorite class - while also being the hardest - is AP U.S. History. The material always caught my eye.

💚What is something you love about Stevenson?
The people. The faculty is always there for you, and you develop personal relationships with them in and out of class.

Meet the students who help bring the Stevenson experience to life for prospective families! Our Green Key Ambassadors welcome visitors to campus, lead tours and share their firsthand experiences as Pirates.

Meet Angela H. ’27!

📍Hometown: Beijing, China

🏫What is one of your favorite spaces on campus?
Rosen Family Student Center because that is where I get to hang out with all of my friends - boarding and day students.

🍚What is your favorite dining hall meal?
I love the sweet and sour chicken.

🌟What is something new you've tried at Stevenson?
Trying out new sports such as water polo and soccer. They brought me some of my best friends at school and it is one of the things that I look forward to the most during the day.

📚What has been your favorite class?
AP U.S. History has definitely been one of my favorite classes. It brought me so much joy while learning the history behind the country that I decided to travel to for education. I’ve learned about the growth of the country and its impact on the entire world.

💚What is something you love about Stevenson?
During the school year, the support the faculty gives to students is so thoughtful and impactful. Especially living in a community with boarding life, I have a close relationship with all my dorm faculty. I still keep in touch with them during breaks.

October’s First Friday brought some Halloween spirit to campus with Fall Into Fright! 🎃

Students enjoyed pumpkin painting, cauldron slime making, caramel apple decorating, face painting, spooky crafts, guessing games, temporary tattoos, and a movie lounge. The evening also included popcorn, hot apple c***r, hot cocoa, Halloween treats, and plenty of candy.🍭

A fun night for students to spend time together and enjoy the start of October!👻

Are our students faster than Kipchoge?

Grade 9 science took learning outdoors for the annual “Running of the Ninth Graders” — a creative, hands-on way to explore velocity, acceleration and unit conversions while getting students moving.

Inspired by Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge’s historic sub-two-hour marathon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiI7eUX6o8U), students used dimensional analysis to calculate his speed, then took on the challenge themselves:

Could they outrun Kipchoge over 20 meters?

Spoiler alert: Not quite! But by thinking about the difference between acceleration and constant velocity, students discovered there are a few ways to improve their chances. They also converted their own speeds to miles per hour and calculated how long it would take to complete a marathon at that pace.

October First Friday was a paws-itively good time! 🐾💚

Stevenson parents and pups kicked off the month with a walk along the Pacific Grove coastline from Lover’s Point, followed by coffee and conversation at Crema.

Thanks to the Pirate Parent Club for bringing our community together - one walk (and cup of coffee) at a time!

What does bravery look like? For the Class of 2030, it looked like trying something new, stepping outside their comfort zones, laughing together and maybe doing a few things that felt a little uncomfortable.

Yesterday, our Grade 9 students spent the day with More Brave founder Crista Samaras for Bravery Training 101, learning that being brave doesn’t mean you’re not afraid, it means you move forward anyway.

A fun, meaningful day of taking healthy risks, building confidence and getting a little braver together.
