Water service is back on in the City of Pearson! Atkinson County School System thanks our families, staff, and community for your patience and understanding.

We are aware of the water outage in the City of Pearson and are following established protocols to address the situation. The health and safety of our students and staff remain our priority.

October 5–9 is Georgia Pre-K Week, and Atkinson County School System is celebrating the joy our Pre-K students bring to our schools.

There is so much to love about this age—the excited stories, the endless questions, the new friendships, and those proud smiles when a child says, “I did it!”

Thank you to our Pre-K teachers and staff for the patience, care, and encouragement you give our children each day. Thank you to our families for sharing these special years with us and helping the learning continue at home.

We are proud of our little learners and cannot wait to see what they discover next! 🌟

When school began on August 4, a whole year of new experiences was ahead of us. Since then, there have been lessons learned, friendships formed, challenges faced, and small victories worth celebrating.

As we begin October, take a moment to recognize that progress. A hard day does not erase how far you have come.

Students: Maybe something that confused you in August makes sense now. Maybe you have found the courage to ask a question, made a friend, or improved at something that took practice. Be proud of those steps! You have more to discover, and we believe in your ability to keep growing.

Parents and guardians: Every encouraging word, conversation about school, and effort to help your child get ready for the day matters. Even when you wonder whether you are doing enough, please know that your love and support make a difference.

Teachers and staff: Thank you for helping our students feel welcome, capable, and cared for. You may not always see the impact right away, but a student can carry your kindness and encouragement long after the school day ends.

To everyone at Pearson Elementary, Willacoochee Elementary, Atkinson County Middle, and Atkinson County High—we are proud of your effort and excited to see what you accomplish next!

Let us head into October ready to encourage one another, celebrate progress, and keep trying. There is so much more ahead of us!

ATCO – Advancing Together Children’s Opportunities

Cuando comenzaron las clases el 4 de agosto, teníamos por delante todo un año de nuevas experiencias. Desde entonces, hemos aprendido, formado amistades, enfrentado desafíos y logrado pequeñas victorias que merecen celebrarse.

Al comenzar octubre, dediquemos un momento a reconocer ese progreso. Un día difícil no borra todo lo que han avanzado.

Estudiantes: Tal vez algo que les parecía confuso en agosto ahora tiene sentido. Quizás se han animado a hacer una pregunta, han hecho una nueva amistad o han mejorado en algo que requería práctica. ¡Sientan orgullo por esos pasos! Todavía tienen mucho por descubrir, y creemos en su capacidad para seguir creciendo.

Padres, madres y tutores: Cada palabra de ánimo, conversación sobre la escuela y esfuerzo por preparar a sus hijos para el día cuenta. Incluso cuando se preguntan si están haciendo lo suficiente, sepan que su amor y apoyo marcan la diferencia.

Docentes y personal escolar: Gracias por ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a sentirse bienvenidos, capaces y apoyados. Tal vez no siempre vean el impacto de inmediato, pero sus palabras de ánimo y su amabilidad pueden acompañar a un estudiante mucho después de que termine el día escolar.

Today we’re giving a BIG thank you to the amazing food service staff across Atkinson County School System!

These hardworking men and women do so much more than prepare meals. They start early, serve with a smile, learn our students’ names, and make sure our children have the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and have a great day.

To our cafeteria teams—we see you, we appreciate you, and we are so thankful for all the love and care you put into serving our students each day.
