Atkinson County Middle/High School currently has a vacancy for a special education paraprofessional position in the self-contained classroom.

Job Title: Special Education Paraprofessional

School & Grade Level: 6-12

Qualification: Para must hold the following certification: Paraprofessional Educator. If the applicant does not hold this certification, then he/she will have until October 14th to secure it.

The position will qualify for a $1,500 annual supplement, which will be calculated through August 2027 and based on the remaining 2026-2027 school days. Supplements are contingent upon successful evaluations at the end of each year.

Start Date: October 23, 2026; pending board approval

October softball is special. For the 1st time in 7 years, Lady Rebels Softball is headed to the State Playoffs. The Atkinson County Lady Rebels will travel to Trion tomorrow for their first-round matchup in the GHSA Class A State Softball Playoffs.

Students in our Personal Finance & Economics classes have recently discussed the car-buying process and how much money actually goes into owning a car! Take a look at some of their incredible work!
Our World History classes also recently explored feudal Europe and had a great time creating their own heraldic shields!
We are so proud of all of our Rebels for their hard work and dedication to learning!

🔬 The Science Department is hard at work at Atkinson County High School! 🧬🦴📡

Our students have been busy exploring the wonders of science! In Biology, students have been studying classification and how organisms are organized into groups. In Anatomy, students have been learning about the human skeleton and the bones that support and protect our bodies. Meanwhile, Physical Science students have wrapped up their study of the electromagnetic spectrum!

We love seeing our students learning, exploring, and making connections through hands-on science and engaging classroom activities. Way to go, ACHS!
