Pearland Education Area Retirees

We had a wonderful January meeting today. Our guest speaker was Kathy Pittman, the President of Cradle of Texas, of the Texas Natural Master Naturalist. She spoke to us about the many animals and species of snakes, spiders, bats, and birds in Brazoria and the many ecosystems we have right in our own backyard. She also showed us the numerous volunteer opportunities you have in outdoor life and wildlife here in Brazoria County.
Next, we started 2026 off with a motivational story about working together and letting the light of TRTA shine out to all. It was exciting to have the President of District 4 at our meeting. She was introduced and gave a talk about what District 4 is planning. We also celebrated the January birthdays and anniversaries of our members. Even though the weather was not totally cold, we did have a hot chocolate bar for everyone. We talked about some of our members who need us to keep them in our prayers. We concluded with our business meeting and some of the activities we did during December. We missed those who were unable to attend and want to wish a very Happy New Year to all .

Today was the PEAR Christmas party. We had fabulous food, wonderful fellowship, and a fun and exciting ornament exchange. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and we missed all those who were unable to make it today.
Remember that we will be wrapping presents for PACE on Dec. 19 from 9 - 11:30. Please come and help with this worthwhile event

PEAR auction was a great success! The scholarship fund gained$490.12. Thank you to all members who donated items and participated in a worthy cause.

Pearland Education Area Retirees commonly known as PEAR had their "Game On, Whoo!! Not Back to School Luncheon" on Thursday, August 14. We had special guest of newly retired teachers and also Dr. Larry Berger. We had a brief rememberance for a member we lost during the summer, Cheryl Sweeney. Her sister-in-law was a special guest. It was a fun time for everyone in attendance. Our new year is now off to a roaring start. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, September 11 at the New Life Lutheran Church on Orange St.
