The Alvin ISD Board of Trustees has named Dr. Rhonda Mason as the lone finalist to serve as the district’s next superintendent, leading more than 30,000 students across 36 schools.
Mason is currently serving as area superintendent of Lamar CISD. She previously held the roles of assistant superintendent, Executive Director of Elementary and Secondary Schools, Executive Director of Early Childhood and School Improvement, and elementary principal in Fort Bend ISD, campus principal in Spring ISD, and assistant principal in Houston ISD. 💙 This was unexpected but appreciated~! We love on our teachers and our school because we want to offer that sincere love and support to the very people who bring their love, passion and energy for this generation, their education and their future. We have loved seeing the growth in our children. And to be loved and appreciated right back? Thank you Principal Hicks, Assistant Principal Mr. Hall and Admin Assistant Ms. Thomas for loving on us yesterday at the PTO Appreciation Luncheon. Calling all McNair Junior High parents (grades 6–8)! We are now accepting nominations for our 2026–2027 PTO Board now through May 13th, with voting taking place at our PTO Meeting on May 13th.

You may nominate yourself or someone else for elected and appointed positions! A few things to keep in mind:
🔹 Nominees must be a current PTO member (Incoming 6th grade parents are also eligible!)
🔹 An Election Committee member will contact all nominees to answer questions and confirm acceptance
🔹 All accepted nominees will appear on the official ballot — write-in votes welcome too!
