🔥 FIRST BUILD-OFF OF THE SEASON! 🔥

Pearland Welding kicked off the Texas High School Welding Series season today at the Fab Services Build-Off at Royal High School.

For Austin, Cameron, Agustin, and Gabe, this was their first-ever build-off, and they came out strong—bringing home 2nd Place! 🥈

They worked through the pressure, learned a lot, and got some valuable experience that will help us moving forward.

Great start to the season, guys. Now we know what to work on—and we’re just getting started.

Thank you to Fab Services, Royal High School, TXHSWS, the judges, and volunteers for putting on a great event.

🔥 BUILD-OFF SEASON IS BACK! 🔥

The new Texas High School Welding Series season kicks off next weekend, but we’re not waiting until then to get started.

We’re at the school today getting the setup dialed in, working together, and knocking the rust off before it’s time to compete.

These competitions aren’t won on competition day. They’re won in the hours nobody sees beforehand.

New season. New teams. Same work ethic.

THANK YOU, RCM SUPPLY!

We want to give a huge shoutout to RCM Supply for their continued support of Pearland Welding. RCM recently donated 300 pairs of welding gloves and 300 pairs of safety glasses to our program!

RCM Supply has been in our corner since the early stages of building Pearland Welding into what it is today. They have supported our students, our graduates, and our vision for preparing young men and women for careers in the skilled trades.

Donations like this go straight into the hands of our students and make a real difference in what we’re able to provide them every day.

600 pieces of PPE is a BIG deal for our program.

One of the greatest rewards of being a welding instructor is watching former students build successful careers after graduation.

Over the past 4 days, several Pearland Welding graduates helped fabricate 25 engineered pipe shoes for a Tesla project through RCM Supply. These weren’t classroom projects—they were engineered components built to real-world specifications, production schedules, and quality expectations.

What makes me especially proud is that these graduates all have full-time careers in the welding industry, yet they continue to contribute to projects with RCM Supply when the opportunity arises. That speaks volumes about their skill, professionalism, and the trust they’ve earned.

RCM Supply has been one of Pearland Welding’s biggest supporters, especially during the early years of building our program. Their willingness to invest in our students, provide opportunities, and support what we’re doing has made a lasting impact. Partnerships like this help bridge the gap between the classroom and the workforce.

As a teacher, there’s no better feeling than watching former students become respected professionals in our industry. Thank you, RCM Supply, for believing in our program from the beginning and for continuing to invest in the next generation of skilled craftsmen.

Today, Pearland Welding pauses to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our country.

Memorial Day is not just a long weekend. It is a day to honor sacrifice, remember the fallen, and show respect for the freedoms we have because of those who never made it home.

From all of us at Pearland Welding, thank you to the service members and families who have carried that sacrifice.

We will never forget.

What a way to finish the season.

Pearland Welding competed this week at the Texas High School Welding Series State Competition in Abilene, going head-to-head in the build-off against 19 other teams from across Texas and New Mexico.

This team has had a great year, and we could not be more proud of Thomas, Manuel, Jase, and Rolando for the hard work, dedication, leadership, and grit they brought to the build-off team.

Pearland Welding finished:

🏆 10th Place at State
🏆 3rd Place Overall in Season Points
🎓 Manuel Cuevas received a $1,250 scholarship

These young men are seniors, and with graduation coming up in the next few weeks, their futures are bright. The success they have already earned is only the beginning.

To Thomas, Manuel, Jase, and Rolando: thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. You have made an impact on this program, your teammates, and on me personally. I am proud of the welders you have become, but even more proud of the young men you are becoming.

I wish you all the best in this next chapter. Keep working hard, stay humble, and go Build Pearland Proud!
