At tonight's Pearland ISD STAR Awards Banquet, we honored several of PJH South's employee award winners and employees who have reached particular service milestones.

-Mrs. Mara Barrozo, Teacher of the Year
-Mrs. Laurel Smith, Glenda Dawson Award Winner
-Ms. Merideth Oliver, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 23 years in Pearland ISD and 27 overall years teaching

Not pictured (but equally important):
-Cathy Munoz, Paraprofessional of the Year
-Ginette Padilla, 20 years of service
-Dereck Reeder, 20 years of service

On Tuesday, April 28, PJH South inducted 36 outstanding seventh grade Diamondbacks as the newest members of PJH South's chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Following a rigorous application process including required service hours, students were selected by our faculty council based on the NJHS pillars of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, service, and character.

One of our favorite things about the NJHS Induction Ceremony is that the current 8th grade NJHS members lead the ceremony for the new 7th grade inductees.
