Today we had the pleasure of welcoming our newest team members to PHS, and Rocky was there to make sure every new face felt right at home!

As we begin another incredible year, we are reminded that every person who joins our campus is an important piece of the puzzle. Together, we connect our talents, experiences, and passion for students to create something bigger than any one of us could do alone.

🛢️🎉 WE STRUCK OIL! 🎉🛢️

What an incredible day celebrating our high-achieving Pearland High School Oilers! Our "We Struck Oil!" Celebration, honoring every student who earned a top score of 5 on their Advanced Placement exams last spring.

The Searcy Cafeteria was packed with Oiler pride, cookies, punch, and an incredible energy as students, families, and teachers came together to recognize this academic milestone.

Seeing our teachers decked out in their 5-Star Driller shirts to celebrate alongside their students was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and late nights that went into this accomplishment. Earning a 5 is no small feat, and we could not be prouder of the grit and commitment these students showed!

Thank you to our incredible teachers, supportive families, and outstanding students for making this event such a massive success.

Congratulations to Oiler artist Aadon Sowells!

Aadon, a senior and Pearland High School District, earned a Gold Medal in Drawing at the NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO competition this summer. He then advanced to the national ACT-SO competition in Chicago, where he earned a Bronze Medal and scholarship, placing third among 27 talented contestants!

Aadon’s award-winning piece, “What A Drag?”, was created with support from his family and PHS Art teacher Mr. Chatman.

We are incredibly proud of Aadon and the way he represented Pearland High School on the national stage! Pride. Honor. Success.

From the historic streets of Kyoto, the Pearland High School Explorers have moved into the ultimate classroom for the second half of our journey: Tokyo and the breathtaking Mt. Fuji!

Our students traded ancient temple grounds for the awe-inspiring sights of Japan's iconic peak, standing in the presence of Mt. Fuji to witness the profound natural beauty that has shaped Japanese art and culture for centuries. From there, it was a leap straight into the future as we arrived in Tokyo, a mesmerizing metropolis where cutting-edge innovation meets deep-rooted tradition.

Whether gazing at the majestic slopes of Fuji or navigating the high-energy, neon-lit avenues of the world’s largest mega-city, our Oilers are learning lessons that simply cannot be printed in a textbook. They are seeing firsthand how a society can honor its natural heritage while leading the globe in technology and modern design.

Travel challenges our students to look beyond their horizons, fostering adaptability, perspective, and a true global mindset. By stepping out of their comfort zones and into the energy of Tokyo, these young leaders are discovering just how big and connected their world really is.

The adventure continues, and the world remains our classroom!

Pearland High School Explorers are discovering that the best classroom doesn’t always have four walls.

From the ancient temples and living traditions of Kyoto, to the energy and innovation of Osaka, to the rich history and cultural treasures of Nara, our students are learning lessons that can’t be found in a textbook alone. They are experiencing firsthand how history, culture, and modern society intersect in one of the world’s most fascinating countries.

Travel teaches more than geography. It develops empathy, adaptability, curiosity, and global awareness. By stepping outside their comfort zones, our students are gaining a deeper understanding of both the world around them and their place within it.

At Pearland High School, we believe students don’t just learn through travel, they learn to lead through understanding.

The world is their classroom, and this journey is helping shape the leaders they will become.
