4th grade explored Light yesterday with High Touch High Tech!

To support our current Civics and Government unit, our 3rd graders took an exciting field trip yesterday to the Georgia State Capitol to see our state government in action! During a guided tour, students explored the three branches of state government: Executive (Governor), Legislative (Georgia General Assembly), and Judicial (Supreme Court of Georgia). A huge thank you to Representative Scott Hilton for taking the time to speak with our students about his roles and daily responsibilities in the General Assembly!

A "pizza" my heart belongs to the library! To welcome students back to the library, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders took part in a Book Tasting. After a quick lesson to review library routines and procedures, students had an opportunity to preview books of many different genres to discover new books and old favorites. This year Ms. Greenstein is challenging all students to read 40 books during the year and to explore all the different genres we have in our library! 📚

Our 4th grade students enjoyed a presentation from the Georgia Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution today. By using authentic artifacts and tools from the era, the presenters offered a tangible look into the past. The traveling trunk, which featured clothing worn by Minutemen, served as a fantastic, hands-on resource that successfully brought our social studies curriculum to life. A highlight was getting to try on some of the clothing!

Yesterday, our 3rd-5th graders got to experience “Hockey Is a Lot Like Life” which is an engaging and motivational school assembly program designed to connect the lessons learned in hockey to the everyday challenges students face in school, sports, and life. Through personal stories, interactive activities, and real-life examples from the Atlanta Gladiators organization, students learn valuable life skills that can help them succeed both in and out of the classroom.
