Taido was established in 1975 by Mits Uchida, with the original school located on Buford Highway in Atlanta, GA. Uchida came from Japan under the direction and commission of his teacher and Taido grandmaster, Dr. Seiken Shukumine. Taido's headquarters has been continuously located in the metro Atlanta area, with satellite schools in both Fort Lauderdale, FL and at the Georgia Institute of Technolo

Taido School's "Team USA" has competed in more than 10 international tournament championships in both Japan and Finland, as well as a host here in the U.S., and has been highly successful in all competitions. Through Founder and President Mits Uchida and his son Mitsuaki's dedication and direction, the school has become a well respected institute in the Atlanta community, as a place where physical and intellectual talent are cultivated, and personal and team goals are exceeded.

Uchida Kaicho Turns 77 Today!
Last Month We Honored His Legacy With Our U.S. Taido 50th Anniversary Celebration Week. We Hosted 65 Guests From Japan And 10 Guests From Sweden. We Held A 12 Hour Long International Friendship Tournament. On Sunday, At Our Banquet Party, Both He And Our International Guests Were Recognized By The Georgia Congress.
He Is Unstoppable!
He Still Comes To Taido Everyday To Help With Teaching His Students. He Has Been An Amazing Leader And Mentor To Thousands Of Students Over The Years.
