Today, Foundry Academy celebrates Juneteenth-a day that marks the fulfillment of our founding fathers' vision that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom delayed is not freedom denied, and that the journey toward liberty and opportunity for all is a story worth remembering.
This is a day to celebrate the resilience, strength, and contributions of African Americans, while also reflecting on the ongoing work of building a society where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
Freedom is not just a gift for some-it is a blessing that enriches all of humanity. When more people are free to learn, grow, create, and pursue their dreams, we all benefit.
Today, we honor the past, celebrate progress, and recommit ourselves to the ideals of liberty, equality, and human dignity.

You may have noticed we've been a little quiet lately...
Trust us-it wasn't because we were soaking up the sun at the beach.
We've been hard at work preparing Foundry Academy's new home, and we couldn't be more excited about what's coming!
Our new Tyrone facility gives us more space than ever before to learn, create, explore, and innovate. Students will enjoy:

Today was a huge day for the Foundry Family!
As we began moving into our new school location, an incredible 52 members of our community showed up ready to work. Lockers, tables, chairs, desks, boxes, and what felt like a ton of everything else was loaded, unloaded, carried, and arranged by people who simply said, "How can I help?"
I am so proud to be part of an organization that shows up. When help is needed, our families don't hesitate—they roll up their sleeves and get to work. Today's move was a powerful reminder that Foundry is more than a school; it's a family.
Thank you to every parent, student, staff member, and friend who gave their time and energy to make this happen. We couldn't have done it without you.
Now the next chapter begins: putting the new building together, unpacking, organizing, and turning it into a place where students will learn, grow, and thrive. You are going to LOVE it!

Graduate Spotlight: Shelby
Today we are proud to celebrate Shelby, a graduate who has never been afraid to take a hands-on approach to learning and pursue his goals in his own way.
While every student's journey looks different, Shelby has spent his high school years developing practical skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong work ethic that will serve him well in the future. He has bought, repaired, and resold vehicles, learning valuable lessons about mechanics, problem-solving, business, and perseverance along the way. Through these experiences, he discovered a passion for working with his hands and understanding how things work.
Shelby currently works at Laser Tech Metal Works, where he continues to gain real-world experience and build technical skills that will support his future career goals.
What makes Shelby's story so inspiring is his willingness to forge his own path. He has taken opportunities to learn outside of a traditional classroom setting, developing skills through experience, hard work, and determination. He understands that success comes in many forms and has built a strong foundation for the future he wants to create.
After graduation, Shelby plans to use the knowledge and skills he has developed to pursue a career as an aircraft mechanic, combining his passion for mechanical work with an industry that values precision, dedication, and expertise.

Graduate Spotlight: Daniel
Today we are proud to celebrate Daniel, a talented musician, dedicated athlete, and creative thinker who has spent years developing his gifts and pursuing his passions.
Daniel's high school journey has been marked by commitment both on the field and at the piano. As a soccer player, he has competed with Trinity, MOBA, KONOS, and Lasers, demonstrating teamwork, discipline, and perseverance throughout his athletic career.
Music has been a central part of Daniel's life for many years. He has studied and played the piano for 12 years, developing remarkable skill and artistry. His talent has been recognized through the Kiwanis Talent Competition, where he earned Second Place honors twice, a testament to his dedication and musical excellence.
Academically, Daniel has challenged himself through Dual Enrollment at Toccoa Falls College, continuing to expand his knowledge while preparing for the next chapter of his career.
What makes Daniel stand out is his commitment to pursuing the path that inspires him. Through years of practice, performance, and hard work, he has developed not only his musical abilities but also the determination to follow his dreams with confidence and purpose.
As he graduates, Daniel plans to continue his journey as a musician and pursue a career in music composition, using his creativity and talent to make a lasting impact through his art.
