We had a fun and busy week in preschool!
Our preschool classes focused on Father’s Day and spent the week creating special gifts, cards, and keepsakes to celebrate the dads and special people in their lives. The children enjoyed sharing what makes their dads special and drawing pictures of their favorite things to do together.
Our 4/5-year-old classes explored the rainforest! We learned about the four layers of the rainforest—the forest floor, understory, canopy, and emergent layer—and discovered some of the amazing animals that live in each one. The children especially enjoyed learning about snakes, chameleons, sloths, and colorful macaws. They created rainforest artwork, made animal crafts, and used their imaginations during rainforest dramatic play.
With the hot weather this week, we spent lots of time outdoors enjoying water play! The children had a great time with sprinklers, water tables, scooping and pouring activities, and cooling off with their friends.

Happy Friday and Shabbat Shalom!
We welcomed students back from April vacation this week, and they had a great time diving into Earth Week, while Ms. Martin’s class focused on learning all about birds.
For Earth Week, the children explored ways to care for our planet through hands-on activities like demonstrating an oil spill and creating Earth art using shaving cream. They also talked about recycling, reusing materials, and simple ways they can help at home.
In Ms. Martin’s class, the children learned about different types of birds, what they eat, and where they live. They enjoyed building nests, pretending to care for baby birds, and observing feathers and bird features up close. They also spent time outside listening for birds and looking for them around the playground.
Some fun activities you can try at home:
* Go on a nature walk and look for birds or signs of spring
* Create a simple bird feeder using a paper towel roll and birdseed
* Practice the 3 Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle
* Talk about ways to save water and energy at home
It was a fun and engaging week back, and we’re looking forward to more learning ahead. Have a wonderful weekend!
