The Payson Community Garden is in full swing!
The Payson Community Garden is a community-driven space dedicated to growing fresh, organic produce while fostering education, connection, and service. Established in 2012 through a partnership between the Payson First Church of the Nazarene and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the garden was created to provide residents with a place to grow their own food while supporting local food banks with fresh produce.
The Payson First Church of the Nazarene generously provided the land for the garden, while volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helped bring the vision to life through the construction of the site.
Today, the garden continues to serve as a valuable resource for both gardeners and the community. Each spring, it offers free public classes focused on successful gardening in the unique Rim Country climate. Gardeners are encouraged to share knowledge, build relationships, and give back through volunteerism and produce donations. To promote healthy, sustainable growing practices, the garden is maintained using organic methods without the use of chemical pesticides or herbicides, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.
