Before our students return, our leaders are doing the work to prepare for them.

This week, principals, assistant principals, and district leaders came together for our three-day Administrative Leadership Retreat, built around a simple progression:

INSPIRE ME — Remember why you lead.
EQUIP ME — Lead with clarity and confidence.
ACTIVATE ME — Turn vision into action.

We began by reconnecting to our purpose with Eugene Hamilton and his powerful “Lead From the Inside Out” session. From there, our leaders collaborated around instructional leadership, stronger systems, shared expectations, school safety, and the supports our schools need to succeed.

And we ended where Pawtucket’s future is literally being built — at the site of the new Pawtucket High School.

Standing together at the construction site was a fitting conclusion to three days of work. Every leader in that photo will help shape the experiences of students who will one day walk through the doors of that school. The building is taking shape, but so is the system of leadership that will support the students inside it.

That is The Pawtucket We Are Building.

📢 Elementary School Schedule Update | 2026–2027

Beginning this school year, the instructional day at all Pawtucket elementary schools will increase by 10 instructional minutes, which will be added to the end of the school day.

Five minutes are necessary to meet Rhode Island’s instructional-time requirements, while the additional five minutes will provide additional time to support student learning and greater flexibility within the school calendar.

📚 Please review the updated 2026–2027 school hours below. Elementary families should also check their email for a letter from Superintendent Buck and a Frequently Asked Questions document with additional information.

At Mundialito, our mission has always been about much more than soccer.

Since 2015, we've used the power of sport to bring people together while creating opportunities for young people to grow as leaders, explore careers, and build brighter futures.

We're excited to invite middle and high school students to join us for our 2026 Mundialito Youth Leadership Day!

Important Update for Pawtucket Families

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, the following schools will have new school hours:
🏫 Agnes E. Little Elementary School
🏫 Curvin-McCabe Elementary School
🏫 Potter-Burns Elementary School
🕘 New School Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.

Following a comprehensive transportation study conducted over the past two years, the Pawtucket School Committee approved this change to improve transportation efficiency, strengthen the reliability of bus service, and save approximately $360,000 annually (allowing more district resources to remain focused on students and classrooms)
We also understand this change may affect family routines. To help support families, especially those with children attending multiple schools, the district is developing before- and after-school programming at each of the three affected schools. These programs are intended to provide safe, supervised care and additional flexibility during this transition.
Families will receive updated bus schedules, program information, and additional details before the start of the school year.

The celebration is happening RIGHT NOW at Cunningham Elementary School, and families are enjoying delicious meals, raffles, giveaways, music, games, bicycles, community resources, and so much more!
