Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to participate in the FeedRI Farm to Fork event, and what a great celebration of local food, farmers, and community!

I served up a Harvest Gumbo, packed with fresh seasonal vegetables, white beans, Creole spices, and plenty of plant-based flavor. I’m thrilled to say the attendees loved it — seeing so many people enjoy a vegetable-forward dish made with ingredients grown right here in our region was incredibly rewarding. 🌱🥘

A huge thank you to Caitlin from Under The Sun in Dighton, MA, who provided all of the beautiful fresh herbs and vegetables I used in the Harvest Gumbo. Having ingredients that fresh truly made the dish something special.

Events like this are a perfect reminder of what farm-to-table cooking is all about: supporting local growers, celebrating what’s in season, and turning great ingredients into food that brings people together.

🌿 A Vegan Camp Cooking Weekend at Suncook River Camp! 🏕️🍽️

Rhode Island Vegan Awareness is excited to team up with Surfrider for a beach cleanup at Oakland Beach in Warwick!

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a longtime volunteer or joining us for the first time, we’d love to have you help us keep our coastline clean while connecting with other compassionate members of the community.
