A testament from my students’ mom. The girls are
4 and 8…..

“I am beyond proud of my girlies!!!

They started swim class the beginning of June not being able to float, swim, and not wanting water on their face.

Ila is now like a mermaid in the water and can float so well. Their swim instructor even said she knows a few people that could get her on a swim team if Ila is interested and thinks she would really excel at it!

Elowen is a bit (very) chaotic in the water and just jumps in but the last couple sessions, it has really clicked for her. She has really good breath control, has learned where to go for safety, and is finally getting her floating figured out.

Sadly, tonight was our last session and the girls wish they had more time there. I am still in disbelief they learned how to swim within a month. I am so incredibly grateful we signed them up 🌊”

I read about a recent drowning of a two year old last night. He drowned in has family swimming pool. While the house bustled about to get ready for bed, his four year old sister opened the slider and the two of them went to the pool. The four year old came inside wet, and told mommy and daddy, “pool”. They just minutes too late as their two year old laid face down in the water. This is my week off from my regular 60 hour a week job as a childcare provider. I chose to work this week at my second business as a
Swim instructor because I am passionate about keeping kids safe in the water by making sure they have the aquatic skills
To survive!! I will be in the pool this week for a total of 37 hours with 15 different students. Some of them will have two to three lessons this week. In the last 4 weeks I have successfully trained and passed six students with the aquatic skills to survive falling into a swimming pool. These students who have passed in the last 4 weeks have ranged from the age of 3 to the age of 13!!!!! That is six kids that I am confident will not die in the family swimming pool if they fall in. They can confidently and competently roll to a float, get air and swim to safety or wait for help to arrive while floating. I am exhausted, water logged and my lips are blistered from the sun. The heat has been in the 90’s this week. Every second I have spent in the pool with a student has been well worth my effort, energy and time. Kudos to the parents that are putting water safety at the top of their list and spending time and money to help their kiddos become self rescuers in the water.

My program focuses first on water safety, survival skills, and self-rescue. Once children are safe and confident in the water, we build strong swimming skills from there.
