Huge thanks to Chief Mike Licciardello for being our guest reader for Read Across America! The kids loved hearing from a local hero and seeing that even Fire Chiefs know the importance of a good book.

We had a very special mystery reader stop by for Read Across America! Our students were thrilled to welcome Paulsboro’s own Councilwoman Kyana Evans as a Mystery Reader.

It was a full-circle community connection. Councilwoman Evans shared her passion for literacy and leadership by reading to our classes, showing our students that the people who lead our town are the same people who value their education and their voices.

As a local author, Kyana understands the power of a story. She recently released her children’s book, "Lay’s Big Question," which focuses on empowering young people to find their voice and engage with their community. Seeing a local leader and author in the classroom reminds our students that they, too, can grow up to be authors, leaders, and change-makers right here in Paulsboro.

We had two very special Mystery Readers join us today to help kick off our Read Across America celebration! Our students were thrilled to welcome back two familiar faces who prove that once you’re part of the Billingsport family, you’re family for life.

✈️ From the Hallways to the High Skies
We were honored to welcome back former Billingsport student Jermaine Morris, who is now a professional pilot! 👨‍✈️✨ Jermaine visited our classrooms to share how his education started right here in these very rooms. It was a powerful reminder to our little ones that their dream jobs—even ones above the clouds—start with the books they open today.

🍎 A Warm Welcome Back
The surprises didn’t stop there! We were also joined by our former principal, Mr. Paul Bracciante! 📚 It was so wonderful to have his leadership and passion for reading back in our building. The students loved hearing from him.

Thank you to Jermaine and Mr. Bracciante for coming home to inspire the next generation of readers and dreamers. Together, you showed our students that the sky is truly the limit!
