💙💛 Shapes, shapes and more shapes was our focus in kindergarten today. As students used hands on materials to demonstrate their understanding of ⭕️ and 🔺️. Other classes focused on identifying numbers.

🧲✨ Magnetic Forces in Action! ✨🧲

Mrs. Sadie’s class is investigating magnetic forces! Our young scientists are exploring how magnets interact with different objects and discovering the science behind pushes, pulls, attraction, and repulsion. 🔬🧲

We love seeing our Pelicans learning through hands-on exploration! 💙📚

👕 Students: Please remember to follow the district dress code policy while participating in our dress-up days. Students may always wear their school uniform if they choose not to participate.

💦 FRIDAY = FOAM/WATER DAY! 💦
Students WILL GET WET! Please make sure your child brings:
👚 A change of clothes
🧺 A towel
🩳 Clothes that are appropriate for getting wet

🎩 Monday – Hats Off to Being Respectful!
Wear a hat and show off your respectful attitude!

🌈 Tuesday – Mix It Up & Match!
Mix & match your favorite school-appropriate outfits!

👩‍🏫 Wednesday – Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher!
Show some love for your favorite teacher by dressing like them! 🍎

🧦 Thursday – Crazy Socks Still Follow All Steps!
Wear your craziest socks! 🤪🧦

💦 Friday – Water/Foam Party!
Wear sunglasses and clothes that can get wet—and DON’T FORGET A TOWEL! 😎🌊

16-24 (red) and 16-2 (Pink) will be combined
16-18 will ride 16-6

Maroon bus:
Students on Franklin Street will need to be picked up at the front of the street due to down wires.
Students on Kilmer Street will also need to be picked up at the front of the street due to it being blocked.

📣 Calling all student leaders!
St. James Parish Schools is now accepting applications for the Superintendent's Advisory Council! This is a chance for students to have a direct voice in our district — sharing what's going well and helping identify areas where we can grow. This council is open to students in grades 7-12.

In order to be considered for membership, students must complete an application. If a student has sat on the council in the past, new applications must be submitted to be considered for this school year's council. Applications can be found at https://www.stjames.k12.la.us/default-board-posts-page/~board/st-james-parish-schools-news/post/2026-2027-superintendents-student-advisory-council-applications-now-accepted you may pick up a hard copy of the application from the School Board Office, or you can email [email protected] for a copy of the application. The deadline for Student Advisory Council Applications is Friday, August 28 by the end of the day.
