Del Puerto High School Alumni Success Spotlight!
We are excited to shine a spotlight on one of our amazing Del Puerto High School alumni and celebrate the incredible journey they have taken since graduation! Today, we are highlighting Adrian Ramirez who is currently a Security Specialist for Patterson Joint Unified School District (PJUSD Patterson Joint Unified School District ) and the Owner/Operator of A&E Party Rentals LLC, while continuing to call Patterson, California, home.
Before arriving at Del Puerto High School, Adrian was struggling with attendance and severely behind in credits. Enrolling at Del Puerto became a turning point and a wake-up call. With the support and encouragement of the administration and staff, along with his dedication, Adrian was able to get back on track and ultimately graduate early!
When asked who made the biggest difference during their time at Del Puerto, Adrian immediately thought of Irene, a former yard duty supervisor. Their story is one that truly captures the dedication of the people who work at Del Puerto. When Adrian was still missing a lot of school, Irene would literally show up at their front door and make sure they got to school! While it may have been annoying at the time, they now look back with appreciation for Irene's determination and dedication to their future.
Their advice to current Del Puerto students who may feel behind or wonder if graduation is possible is simple but powerful: “Don’t give up. There are always opportunities to turn things around; you just have to want it. It’s never easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. You will end up thanking yourself and your teachers in the future after all is said and done.”
We couldn't be more proud to see how far Adrian has come! A second chance can change everything when you have the support, determination, and willingness to keep moving forward.
Del Puerto High School is proud of the many graduates who were given a second chance, persevered through challenges, earned their diploma, and went on to achieve their goals.
