In observance of Juneteenth, all Paterson Public Schools will be closed on Friday, June 19.

Under the leadership of Principal Amod Field and Program Director Susan Ronga, Paterson Adult & Continuing Education (PACE) students were honored for attaining prestigious certificates and completing their respective programs during the 2025-2026 school year at the annual PACE Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 15. 🎉👏

These dedicated students were celebrated for reaching these exceptional personal and professional milestones, reflecting their relentless drive and perseverance. Congratulations PACE students!

Paterson Public Schools’ Youth Empowered Stewardship (YES) Program hosted an incredible and reflective culminating event at School 16 to celebrate the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. Student leaders and advisors showcased amazing student-led projects driving culture shifts in our district.

Huge congratulations to our YES students for the incredible dedication and hard work they put in this year!

Statement from Superintendent Dr. Laurie W. Newell

“The Paterson Public School District has received notification that the June 8, 2026 correspondence issued by the Passaic County Executive County Superintendent has been rescinded and that any directives contained within that letter should be disregarded.

The district remains committed to implementing initiatives approved by the Board of Education and guided by established district planning processes, including efforts associated with the Long-Range Facilities Plan and the continued implementation of the Middle School Model. These initiatives are designed to strengthen educational opportunities and better serve the needs of our students and families.

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, our focus remains on providing high-quality educational experiences for all students and ensuring that every decision is guided by what is in their best interest. We will continue to keep our community informed as we move forward.”

Paterson Public Schools High School Graduation is 10 days away! 🎓

Please join us on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Hinchliffe Stadium to celebrate this important milestone with our students and families.

The morning ceremony begins at 9 AM and will include graduates from Eastside High School, Paterson P-Tech High School, Paterson STEAM High School, and STARS/T.I.E.S. Academy.

The afternoon ceremony begins at 12:30 PM and will include graduates from International High School, John F. Kennedy High School, Newcomers High School, and Rosa L. Parks School of Fine & Performing Arts.

The ceremonies will be livestreamed, and the full recording will be posted to the district website the following week.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone we ask for your cooperation with the following guidelines: confetti, air horns, and noisemaking items are prohibited; high-heeled shoes are not allowed on the field; and umbrellas and balloons are not allowed at the graduation ceremonies.

Paterson Public Schools will operate on a half-day schedule for students from June 22 to June 26.

🕐 Students will be dismissed at 1 PM each day.

Paterson Public Schools recognized 45 outstanding parents from schools across the district during its annual Title I End-of-Year Family Breakfast Conference on June 6 at Eastside High School, celebrating the critical role families play in student achievement and school success. 👏💫

Coordinated by the Department of Family and Community Engagement, this impactful event brought together parents, educators, administrators, Superintendent’s Cabinet members, Board of Education Commissioners, and community leaders for a morning dedicated to recognizing the exceptional contributions families make to the educational journey of Paterson students.

Early Dismissal Notice – New Roberto Clemente School

Due to rising temperatures in the building, New Roberto Clemente School will have an early dismissal on Friday, June 12. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 PM, and staff will be dismissed at 1:20 PM.

All other schools will operate on a regular schedule.
