🍎 Happy National School Lunch Week! 🥪

This week, we’re celebrating the important role school meals play in helping our students learn, grow, and succeed! 💚

Our school nutrition team works hard every day to prepare and serve nutritious, delicious meals that fuel our students for learning and give them the energy they need to make the most of each school day.

A BIG THANK YOU to our amazing kitchen staff for their care, dedication, and hard work! Your efforts make a difference in our schools and in the lives of our students each and every day. ❤️

🌟 The Sunshine Club helped make this week extra special by presenting gifts to our kitchen staff as a thank-you for all they do for our school community. What a wonderful way to show appreciation for the people who help keep our students fueled and ready to learn!

After a year of fundraising and planning, twenty-four River Ridge 8th graders, two staff chaperones, and nine parent chaperones boarded a WARCO charter bus and left at 11:15 am on their way to the Washington, DC area for their week long field trip. The group will arrive early Monday in Gettysburg, PA and will return to River Ridge early Friday morning, October, 16. The River Ridge Middle School Fundraiser Ice Cream Party was held on Friday, October 9. Students had to have sold 2 items to earn the party. Thank you to all the students who participated this year. Our $10,000 sales goal was surpassed by almost $4,000. A nice profit was made for their class bank accounts. Congratulations!

The tradition continues at River Ridge…On the day of their last home game of the regular season, the senior football players choose a River Ridge staff member (who has had great impact on their life) to wear their football jersey. Congratulations to all the recipients and good luck in your game tonight! Go Timberwolves!

One incentive for the River Ridge Middle School Fundraiser was to share sales links with family and friends online by the 3rd day of the fundraiser held in September. Middle School students who met the requirements, earned water balloons to throw at Mr. Winkers Dean of Students. 130 balloons were thrown at Mr. Winkers today, October 8. Mr. Winker’s 5th grade son was a pretty good shot as shown in this video. Thanks for taking the “hits” Mr. Winkers!!!

The River Ridge Middle School held their annual fundraiser in September. The top 3 sellers in the middle school earned extra cash prizes. In 1st place selling 45 items was 5th grader, Averee Krantz, who received $50. 2nd place went to 5th grader, Alyzah Irish, who sold 32 items and received $30. 6th grader, Trinity Myhre sold 30 items and earned $20 for 3rd place. Congratulations to the top 3 sellers! One of the incentives for the event was to share sales links online to family and Friends by the 3rd day of the fundraiser to earn a water balloon to throw at Mr. winkers. The Water Balloon Throw was held on Thursday, October 8 after lunch on the softball field. 130 balloons were thrown at the Dean of Students today. There happened to be a few extra water balloons, so middle school staff members fired a few too! Thanks to Mr. Wade Winkers for being a good sport!

On October 2nd, the Horticulture class toured Shihata's Orchard in Prairie du Chein as they wrapped up their apple production unit. They learned about how an apple orchard is managed, along with all the items that go into producing apples and growing them.
