Join us tonight for a series of fascinating Torah lectures at the Hesder Yeshiva in Sderot — part of the Bein haZmanim program run by Orayta, an organization founded by the Yeshiva.

Orayta (Aramaic for Torah) –A new program that developed from within the Yeshiva to continue the Yeshiva's goal of spreading Torah within the city and surrounding communities. It is run by the avreichim (married students) and the Yeshiva, in partnership with the Reut Association and the Sderot Municipality.

In this week’s parsha, Parshat Eikev, we are given the commandment of Birkat Hamazon (Benching) after we eat.

But is it just a simple prayer of thanks?

Rabbi Duv Fendel, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Hesder Sderot, reveals the profound and universal themes hidden within this everyday mitzvah.

Discover how a simple meal connects us to the very foundations of Am Yisrael, the legacy of Avraham Avinu, and the ultimate blessing for the entire world.

Shabbat Shalom!

As we enter Tisha B’Av, Rabbi David Fendel shares with us a profound message of hope hidden within our mourning.

Even as the Babylonians and Romans stormed the Beit HaMikdash, the Leviim continued to sing.

Their sudden silence wasn't an end, but merely a temporary pause in a song we will eventually finish.

Tisha B'Av teaches us that Hashem weeps alongside us, proving that our eternal relationship remains unbroken.

Unlike a typical period of mourning where we seek closure, we refuse to forget and refuse to accept the destruction.

The song is just paused—we WILL return.

On October 7th, Sderot was nearly emptied.

Today?

New stores, new restaurants, streets full of life. 🇮🇱

As we enter Menachem Av, Rabbi Ari Katz shares what real comfort looks like — a city rebuilt.

Back to where it all started.

This week we welcomed Sderot Hesder Yeshiva alumni back — this time as parents, celebrating their kids heading off to first grade.

The day included parent-child learning, a rooftop view of Sderot, a team activity, a gift for every child, and a bracha from Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi David Fendel.

Watching our alumni return with the next generation - that's what it's all about.

"They tried to break our spirit. They didn't realize that it is invincible. Unbreakable."
— Rabbi David Fendel, Rosh Yeshiva, Sderot Hesder Yeshiva
In a new Arutz Sheva interview, Rav Fendel shares what's really happening in Sderot: 🇮🇱

- "They thought they would turn this place into a ghost town... We're not going to let them. We're turning it into a capital of Torah and Zionism."
- "On October 7, our guys became the guardians of the city. Residents said that when they saw white shirts, kippot srugot, tzitzit flying — they felt protected."
- "We are also an important factory — one that produces Torah giants, leaders, teachers, high-tech professionals."

Today the mayor, deputy mayor, and school principals of Sderot are Yeshiva alumni.

Hundreds of students serve on the front lines while the Beit Midrash keeps growing — a new study hall, women's college, high school, and dormitories all rising at once.

And to those who make it possible, Rav Fendel says it best:
- "Every donation makes a tremendous difference... We need you, and we thank you profusely for your generosity and friendship."

We had the most beautiful evening at Yeshivat Hesder Sderot celebrating the Bar and Bat Mitzvahs of the children of our alumni!

The night featured inspiring words from Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Duv Fendel on connecting generations and serving Hashem with love, alongside special father-son and father-daughter bonding activities.

It was an unforgettable evening!
