There’s nothing quite like getting out into the community and seeing great work in action.

Christine recently visited the Paso Robles Youth Arts , where creativity is opening doors for young people across North County. From art, music, dance, and theatre to culinary arts, the Center gives local youth a place to discover new interests, build confidence, and find connection.

It was inspiring to see the energy behind their work and hear about what’s ahead as they continue creating even more opportunities for young people to learn and grow.

Pardon our dust—the masterpiece is almost ready!

We’re putting the final brushstrokes on our newly remodeled space and wrapping up construction just in time! Get ready to create, explore, and get messy when Session 4 after-school art classes kick off on August 24th for ages 5 to 18! The hard hats are coming off and the art aprons are going on! Our building transformation is nearly complete, and we can’t wait to welcome young artists back!! This art is titled, "Rider on the Storm with Crystal" created by one of our students in 2021!

On Friday, July 26th, Kids Day at California Mid-State Fair delivered a wonderful experience! Shelby Steiner, Programs coordinator and Natalia Esquivel, Office Administrator from PRYA were there! Along with eight other non-profit organizations, they provided plenty of free, hands-on activities, games, and fun for kids of all ages. Today was Kids Day at the California Mid-State Fair, featuring free admission for children 12 and under, a non-profit expo in Mulbeary Park, and tractor races. All happened this Friday, July 24th! It was a delight for the young and the young at heart! This year’s fair hosted free non-profit expos featuring organizations that serve older adults, children and families, active-duty military members, and veterans. YAY for the Mid-State Fair! Grace Shults’ connection to the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center was woven into her life long before she was old enough to step into a classroom. In 2001, when Grace was just a toddler, her mother, Claire Fundaro, became the very first teacher hired by PRYA founder Donna Berg. Because of this, Grace quite literally took her first steps surrounded by the hum of creativity, mentorship, and community. The Youth Arts Center didn’t just become a part of her childhood—it became the backdrop of her life.

TADA!! We are nearing the finish line for a safe, secure entrance for 700 wonderful youth (and instructors)! We are grateful for our community's support, the donations big and small, and must! charities for bringing this welcome addition to life with their philanthropy. PRYA is fully supported by community donations, and .charities is one very special partner - thank you and all who are making the dream come true. 28 years of growth, no youth between the ages of 5 and 18 is turned away!
