Today, we celebrated the grand opening of Virgie Robinson Elementary’s new inclusive playground—a space where students of all abilities can play, explore, build friendships, and belong!
Robinson also earned National Demonstration Site® recognition from PlayCore’s Center for Outreach, Research and Education for its inclusive playground design. The space offers different ways to play that support students’ physical, sensory, social-emotional, cognitive, and communication development.
Made possible through grant funding from the Accessible Education Cooperative, Robinson’s playground joins inclusive playgrounds at Three Rivers and Columbia River elementary schools, expanding opportunities for Pasco students to play and learn together.
Thank you to our families, staff, district leaders, and project partners who joined today’s celebration. The highlight was watching Robinson students bring their new playground to life at recess!
