CELEBRATING WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION WEEK:
Each year, the construction industry celebrates Women in Construction Week. Construction has long been considered a male-dominated field, but that is steadily changing across the United States.
Women apprentices bring determination, resilience, and a strong work ethic to the jobsite. Through hard work and dedication, they are proving that construction is a place where women can thrive, lead, and succeed.
Here at the Teamsters AGC Training Center, we strive to create pathways for women in the construction industry. We are proud to champion gender equity in the trades by actively recruiting, training, and empowering women apprentices.
Currently, 37% of the apprentice positions in our program are held by women and we expect that number to continue to grow rapidly over the next few years.
The Teamsters AGC Training Center wants to give special recognition to all the women in the construction industry. From those in management, those working on site, the journey-women, and the apprentices.
We appreciate the commitment these women show as they balance learning, training, and hands-on work while paving the way for others to follow. Their drive and passion are helping shape a stronger, more inclusive construction workforce.
