On September 13, 1957, Edgar Brown Stadium officially opened its gates for the first time as the Pasco Bulldogs hosted Walla Walla High School under the lights. It was a historic evening—but it almost looked very different. Six light towers had been installed for the inaugural game, yet only three were working properly until just 90 minutes before kickoff!
For nearly seven decades, Edgar Brown Stadium has been the home of Bulldog football, soccer, track and field, graduations, community celebrations, and countless unforgettable memories.
In 2002, thanks to the vision and support of our community through a voter-approved bond, the stadium underwent a major transformation with the installation of FieldTurf and a new concession area, ensuring Edgar Brown Stadium would continue serving students and families for generations.
Now, history is being made once again.
Because of the incredible support of our community in approving the 2023 bond, Edgar Brown Stadium is receiving a brand-new, state-of-the-art LED lighting system. Scheduled for completion by the end of August 2026, these energy-efficient lights will provide dramatically improved visibility for student-athletes, officials, performers, and fans while reducing energy consumption and long-term operating costs. This will be just in time for the 69th year of football at Edgar Brown stadium and the 115th year of football between Kennewick vs Pasco!
The result?
A brighter, safer, and more beautiful playing surface.
Enhanced conditions for practices, competitions, tournaments, and school events.
An investment that will benefit Pasco High School students and our community for years to come.
This is more than new stadium lights. It's an investment in our students. It's an investment in our athletic and activity programs. It's an investment in the future of Pasco High School.
A heartfelt “Thank you” to the Pasco community, the Pasco School Board, and the Pasco School District Facilities Improvement Team for making this project possible. Your continued commitment to our students and schools is helping preserve one of Pasco's most treasured landmarks while preparing it for the next generation of Bulldogs.
Now it's time to make even more history. We'll see you under the lights at Edgar Brown Stadium.
Welcome back, Bulldogs... let's make some noise!
