Stop by the Mississippi State University Extension Office to pick up your copy and start planning your fair entries. The fair book includes important dates, rules, entry information, contests, and everything you need to participate in this year’s fair.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just starting to develop your green thumb, we'd love to have you join our wonderful group of volunteers. Together, we learn, grow, and help beautify Jackson County through education, service, and a shared passion for gardening.

🥒🎶 What a fantastic day of learning, laughter, and canning! 🎶🥒

Our “Pickle with Jazz!” Bread & Butter Pickles Workshop was a huge success! Participants learned the basics of safe home canning while creating their very own delicious jars of homemade Bread & Butter Pickles.

From slicing fresh cucumbers and preparing the brine to packing jars and processing them in the canner, everyone had the opportunity to get hands-on experience. The smiles, teamwork, and excitement made this class one to remember!

A big thank you to everyone who attended and made this workshop such a fun and educational event. We hope you enjoy your homemade pickles and feel inspired to continue preserving fresh foods at home.

A special thank you to Asbury Chapel AME Zion Church for graciously allowing us to use your Educational Building and kitchen. Your generosity and hospitality made this hands-on learning experience possible, and we sincerely appreciate your continued support of community education.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Mississippi State University Extension Service for providing educational opportunities that empower individuals and families with practical food preservation skills.

What a wonderful evening of learning, laughter, and hands-on fun at our Cooking Up Some Fun early childhood training! 🎉

Participants explored the importance of nutrition education, discovered how cooking activities support children’s early learning and development, and practiced essential food safety and proper handwashing techniques.

Everyone had a great time creating healthy fruit kabobs 🍓🍌🫐🍇 and fun fruit-faced peanut butter toast while learning creative ways to make healthy eating exciting for young children. It was inspiring to see so much creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm!

A big thank you to everyone who attended and made this workshop such a success. We appreciate your commitment to helping children develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime. ❤️
