For Xiangyi Huang (BS ’15), the Institute’s alumni network continues to shape his career in quantitative finance, surrounding him with like-minded colleagues and collaborators.

Inspired to give back after reconnecting with Caltech faculty and leadership on a recent trip, Huang and his wife, Helin Gao, established a family scholarship to help ensure talented students can access the same opportunities.

Caltech Giving Day 2026 Join me and make a gift to 2026!

In a centennial event echoing the founding of the Caltech Associates in 1926, Caltech leadership and faculty, Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, and over 150 Associates convened at The Huntington to honor a century of philanthropic impact and look ahead to the future of discovery being supported by the Associates.

Attendees recognized the generosity of Associates 100 Legacy Circle members, who have pledged gifts equivalent to those of the founding Associates. Faculty also talked about their work in visual perception modelling, chemical engineering, and environmental economics, and the potential for transformative discoveries in the coming years.
