We are beyond proud to celebrate Patzy Cruz, a December 2025 BAS graduate, who has been named New Teacher of the Year at Bailey Elementary in Pasadena ISD!🏆👏

Patzy continues to shine as a first-year educator, demonstrating the passion, dedication, and heart that make a lasting impact on students every single day. Her journey is a powerful example of what perseverance and purpose can achieve. 💛📚

🎉🍎 Major Milestone for Our Inaugural BAS Graduates! 🍎🎉

We are incredibly proud to share that two of our inaugural BAS in Education graduates, Patzy Cruz and Bianca Gaviria, have successfully passed all of their certification exams! 🎓👏

While they will continue their journey through their internship year to become fully certified teachers, passing these exams is one of the biggest and most challenging hurdles—and they did it! 💪

These exams are rigorous and require deep content knowledge, instructional skill, and perseverance. Patzy and Bianca rose to the challenge and proved that they are prepared, capable, and ready to lead in the classroom.

They are powerful examples of what is possible through the BAS in Education program at San Jacinto College—and a reminder to all of our current and future students:
