This Day in History series - May 21, 1990 - Spiritual leader, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and minister, ArchBishop Desmond M. Tutu visits Fuller and speaks at Community Worship in chapel. His sermon was entitled “God’s Word in Our Lives”.

This Day in History series - May 17, 1955 - Minister and Fuller faculty member, Professor of Apologetics (1948 - 1954), E. J. Carnell was inaugurated as the 2nd president. He was the first to serve in full-time residence. During his tenure, in 1957, the seminary received full accreditation from the American Association of Theological Schools.

This Day in History series - May 10 - Hubbard Library celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - In 2010, Fuller began the 3-year program, the Asian American Theology & Ministry Initiative, to prepare for the establishment of a future Center. In 2013, the Asian American Initiative was set up featuring regular Asian American courses, events, and small groups. In July 2016, Fuller established the Center for Asian American Theology and Ministry (also called the Asian American Center). Daniel Lee has served as assistant provost and academic dean. The center includes the Filipino American Heritage Initiative, which offers community, mentoring, and resources to Filipino Americans at and beyond Fuller Seminary.

Fuller library celebrates Asian American Pacific American Heritage Month - Fall 1979 - Theological Studies for Asian Ministers Program is initiated. The program is designed "to meet the needs of immigrant as well as second and third generation Asian pastors, both at the M.A. and D.Min. level." Samuel Soon-ll Kim serves as program director.
