✨ Proud moment! Congratulations to Miss Helena Alves, fifth grade teacher, and Ms. Angela Chavez, third grade teacher, for receiving the Jarratt Brunson Memorial Award for Literacy at the Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Teacher Grants Celebration. 📚💛

Their project, “Students Becoming Publishers,” will give students the chance to create and publish their own poetry books, helping them build confidence, find their voices, and grow as young authors.

We’re so grateful for our amazing educators and the heart they bring to their work every day. Congratulations, Miss Alves and Ms. Chavez! 👏🌟

Need some assistance with your homework? Check out our Homework Help program, beginning in September. Kids can get help with math, science, language arts and reading from a qualified volunteer, Monday through Thursday (except September 1 and 18), at our La Pintoresca and Hastings branch libraries. Walk-ins are welcome.
