First Friends Day School

First Friends Day School We promote a positive self-image, a sense of identity, and encourage cooperative play in a positive atmosphere to stimulate the development of the whole child.

First Friends offers full-time care and provides age-appropriate (3 months - Kindergarten) instruction in academics, chapel, art, and music with outside enrichment programs of Spanish, Computer Class, Tumbling, and Soccer coming in to offer instruction to those who want their children to participate. The children and families have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of events: pumpkin parties, Thanksgiving meals, Live Nativity, Sweet Serenades, Field Trips, Pancakes with Pop, Muffins with Mom, Graduation, and much more. Our purpose is to provide a secure and nurturing environment that fosters independence, curiosity, and the development of age-appropriate skills in a Christian atmosphere. Our curriculum is accomplished through play-based activities in various learning centers (reading, art, dramatic play, games, math, blocks, manipulatives, etc). There is also a different theme focus each week. Each class has a daily routine which includes a balance of large and small group activities, learning centers, music, outdoor play, and snack and lunch time. Our goal is to let each child achieve his/her potential at his/her own pace.

As I am getting ready for our last full day of operation as First Friends Day School, my heart is full of much gratitude to our families who have allowed us the privilege of loving and caring for their children! I am also so thankful for a tremendous staff who truly loves our children and has stayed with us to the very end. Yes, we will all shed tears today as we say goodbye to our children, families, and each other. We will all go our different ways, but will always hold our children & families in our hearts. It has been an honor to serve beside each & every one of our staff, and I am a better person for knowing all of you! God is good and will be with all of us (children & adults) as we begin a new journey!

Our staff had our End of Year gathering last night at Saltgrass, Pasadena. It was wonderful to have 16 of our 21 staff members together enjoying delicious food & great fellowship! I am so blessed & honored to have served with such incredible women who truly love & care for our children. God is good and I pray for every staff member & every FF student who will begin new journeys at new jobs/schools.
We have 5 days of school left and will cherish every minute of it❤️

Our 3's & 4's had a great time with their water day today!!! Tomorrow will be our infants, toddlers, & 2's!
The school calendar says Pajama Day for Wednesday BUT we are also extending Pajama Day to Thursday too so everyone gets to participate in it!!!

Our Celebration Party today was a blast!!! It was so great to see so many former & current families & staff!!! Thanks to Al la Cart Popsicles & More and Jolly Jumpers Moonwalks for helping make our event so special! The only thing that could have been better is that I took pictures! I had so much fun talking with people that I forgot to take pics! Great memories made today!!! We are going to cherish our last 7 days!

*May 11th - Muffins with Mom 7:30-9:30 am/come and go
*May 18th - Graduation of our Pre-K 4's/6:30 pm
*May 21st - Celebration Goodbye Party/1:30-3:30 pm
*May 23rd & 24th - Water Days (rescheduled)
*May 26th - School-ager Water Day
*May 29th - Closed for Memorial Day
*May 31st - Last day of school for First Friends

First Friends Families - our Water Days scheduled for 5/9 & 5/10 have been postponed due to the weather. Our new dates will be 5/30 & 5/31!!!
We will have an obstacle course and jumpies on 5/9 & 5/10 so we will have inside fun instead of outside fun!
