So in case you're wondering what this page is all about please read this to its entirety and please please please send your positive energy, your prayers, and comments or suggestions and ideas, your skills, your donations of time or money. please forward this to everybody that you know. I want to figure out how to get an online petition started! I'll do that as well.
So here's what the ideas and the purpose of this entire page... this beautiful building has sat vacant for many many years and it Towers over all the Pasadena. the irony is it used to be the Hub of Pasadena. the smartest most successful most, busy productive people in Pasadena met there at the bank however it is such a shame that it's been empty for so many years. the building is one of only two skyscrapers that Frank Lloyd Wright contributed to. I believe it was a student of his , actually was the architect for this building. however. It is a historical landmark and the building before its Decay was simply gorgeous inside and out. The building now hovers over a part of Pasadena that needs Improvement. It also hovers over an area that is economically challenged. The other irony here is that the kids that can to go off to the more expensive four-year colleges live close to San Jac Central. The kids that live in the shadows of this beautiful building sometimes can't even afford a car do you get to a job much less to a college like San Jac that's too far away. This new campus Building is also shading the Old Pasadena Town Square Mall. A lot of the mall is now empty. If we could get San Jacinto College District to create and refurbish this building into what could be a fourth or fifth now campus for San Jacinto College... it would be such a jolt of economic growth and prosperity for this entire community that I love. There would be plenty of grant money. They would be historical preservation Grant Monies, Hispanic neighborhood revitalization Grant Monies, non-profit education and low income education grant Monies. Having this High-rise filled up with students, they could also shop and work at the mall. It would be a huge increase to the taxe base of the area as well. There is a ballroom on one of the top stories of the building that is simply beautiful and has a beautiful view of the entire city including the refineries that at night, look like little fairy towns! It could be rented out for Weddings, quinceneras, Christmas parties excetera excetera. The ballroom could then also bring in some extra revenue for the school and the kids. The ground floor it's simply beautiful or it was at one time. It would be perfect for use as the Student Union and the library. There is a huge parking lot that is now overgrown with weeds. But the faculty could use this to park their cars to go to school. The Old Pasadena Police Academy, the last time I checked anyway, on the other side of 225, has also sat empty for many years. The old Southmore Hospital sat empty for many years. Sadly, it's now a storage business. But now the Old Pasadena General Hospital has been vacant and unused for several years. The new technology and trade school on the Beltway at the edge of the city limits of Pasadena and Houston is a great and wonderful idea and school. However, it is very far from Pasadena High School. The families that their children attend Pasadena High School are usually working all day and can't drive their kids that far away. It would be so awesome for the kids from Pasadena High to be able to attend dual credit classes at the new Uno Nuevo San Jacinto. There could be buses to take kids from Pasadena high school 2 The Old Pasadena General Hospital for the kids interested in learning about the medical professions, like EMTs paramedics LPNs, cnas,2 year degree adn rns,rad techs, medical assistance, etc. There could also be bussing students to the old police academy for those interested in pursuing criminal justice degrees. Not to mention all the refineries around there that could be supplied with workers and support staff from uno Nuevo San Jacinto.
I simply just love my idea and I would so absolutely love to see that Community thrive and be revitalized and be beautified and grow in spirit, knowledge and education.
I am not completely set in stone on the name of it.
please I beg of you forward this to everybody on your friends list And especially your Congress men and representatives, and city councilman.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions or suggestions. I cannot wait to see this happen!!!!
