When a Casting Director gives you a note, it's not a challenge to figure out how to do the exact opposite of what they're saying. When I say 'please read to the camera' that doesn't mean you should then turn around and read to the wall.

For someone who is submitting thru Actors Access and not in SAG, good lord please don't say "I'm interested in the role but I don't audition on weekends." I mean if you said you had to work or something okay but "I don't audition on weekends?" This is you career - don't ever 'Don't' yourself out of anything Princess!

You should always research the Casting Directors you are going in to see in a class to see their professional history/what they've cast. You should not, however, send them a postcard with the results of your very intensive stalking including a picture from a social networking profile, the name of said CD's home town as well as the name of said CD's father's restaurant in said hometown. Yeahhhhit's a lil stalker-y.

Before you admit to being 'in love with' the lead actor in a project, make sure the person you're talking to in the audition is not his wife. Best retort ever from wife, however? "Yeah, me too."

In a self taped audition - #1 Don't use your child as your reader. #2 If you do use your child as a reader, please don't make them talk about crackheads, wh**es and your le***an year (or as this 8 year old mis reads it -"I miss your l*z BYE an year"). I'm sorry if you are on facebook and reading this, but that video gets inappropriate award of the year.

Workshops and Classes and Plays, oh my! Keep up with your craft even if the auditions aren't rolling in. #1, you'll be able to keep your instrument in tune and #2 you'll have fun acting while you're doing it!

Keep your reels short, otherwise we just go thru the 10 minute reel and make our own 'speedreel' of it watching a few seconds here and there - which you probably don't want us to do!

Be your own salesperson, but don't be overwhelming...there's a reason people don't like going to used car lots!
