Let's do a little thought exercise: Fill in the blank.
Torah is ________.
I'm gonna guess the word you put in has nothing to do with the arts. In fact, whenever we associate our relationship with Torah we tend to think of it in terms of an intellectual pursuit. A class, a lecture, a library, a book; these are typically the scenes we picture when we imagine ourselves experiencing Torah.
But the truth is, Torah is not just for intellectuals.
Even if you are not the "studious" type, there is a way to study Torah in a more "creative" manner.
Enter TORAH THRU THE ARTS.
One of the many offerings of the Pasadena Jewish Academy, these events attempt to create an entryway to Torah study using the medium of Art.
In 2 weeks, we'll be hosting Mrs. Chana Tova Brekan, a local artist who will be showcasing her pieces and the Torah thoughts that inspired them. Following the exhibition we will get a chance to interview Mrs. Brekan and hear about her artistic and Jewish journeys and how they've influenced each other over the years.
So please join us on Sunday, December 12, 7:00pm as we are moved by the powerful messages of Torah as they are expressed through illustration.
