I have some questions about G-d... ok?

- What is the G-d that Judaism believes in?
- Why does he care what I do?
- Does he ever change his mind?
- Why is he so jealous?
- Why do we keep calling him "he" is G-d a 'he' 'she' or a 'they'?

..and 20 more besides!

Join us for our upcoming new six-week course as we answer 25 questions about what Judaism believes about G-d!

Let's do a little thought exercise: Fill in the blank.

Torah is ________.

I'm gonna guess the word you put in has nothing to do with the arts. In fact, whenever we associate our relationship with Torah we tend to think of it in terms of an intellectual pursuit. A class, a lecture, a library, a book; these are typically the scenes we picture when we imagine ourselves experiencing Torah.

But the truth is, Torah is not just for intellectuals.

Even if you are not the "studious" type, there is a way to study Torah in a more "creative" manner.

Enter TORAH THRU THE ARTS.

One of the many offerings of the Pasadena Jewish Academy, these events attempt to create an entryway to Torah study using the medium of Art.

In 2 weeks, we'll be hosting Mrs. Chana Tova Brekan, a local artist who will be showcasing her pieces and the Torah thoughts that inspired them. Following the exhibition we will get a chance to interview Mrs. Brekan and hear about her artistic and Jewish journeys and how they've influenced each other over the years.

So please join us on Sunday, December 12, 7:00pm as we are moved by the powerful messages of Torah as they are expressed through illustration.

Does the word "messiah" make you a little uncomfortable?

I don't know what it is... But it just sounds a bit un-Jewish - am I right?

WRONG.

Actually believing in the messianic age or "the coming of Moshiach" is one of the 13 principles of the Jewish faith.

So what do we know about it?
How will it come about?
Will life as we know it change?
If it hasn't happened for 5000 years so far, how can I actually believe it's around the corner?

Join us to demystify the Jewish idea of a perfect world and discover a practical path for reaching it in our lifetime.

This Can Happen This Can Happen: A Credible Case for Feeling Good about the Future For thousands of years, the prophecies of a “messianic age” stretched the imaginations of even the most fervent believers. Not any…
