Yesterday, we gathered for our deeply powerful Black Grad ceremony to honor the unique journeys, deep resilience, and profound achievements of our African American graduates at Fuller—including a massive celebration for our doctoral scholars! 🕊️✨

The joy from yesterday is carrying us right into tomorrow’s main Commencement! Navigating the peak of a doctoral program takes an incredible level of spiritual fortitude, clinical excellence, and emotional endurance. Behind every dissertation and doctoral gown is a village of ancestors, family members, mentors, and friends who held up our scholars in prayer and community. As you prepare to walk across that big stage tomorrow and officially claim your title, we honor the legacy of faith and excellence you are carrying forward. ✊🏾❤️

Navigating graduate-level work requires immense intellectual rigor, spiritual fortitude, and emotional resilience. You didn’t just survive the grind—you grew through it, deepened your scholarship, and allowed your faith to expand. 🧠📖

New Face, New Stories. 🌟 Please join us in welcoming Lauren Vernea, the Pannell Center’s new Program Assistant for Storytelling and Social Media!

Lauren, a current Fuller MDIV student , is a standup comedian, professional director, and producer who just completed directing the acclaimed documentary, “Jesus Was a Migrant” for . She is dedicated to highlighting the intersection of faith, culture, and Black excellence within our community.

From student spotlights to behind-the-scenes moments, she’s here to make sure your voice is heard.

Fun Fact: When she’s not behind the lens, you can catch her on stage at The Hollywood Improv.

It is with great pleasure that we share that Dr. LeTasha Morrison has
accepted the role as Interim Director for the William E. Pannell Center for the Black Church Studies. Dr. Le’Tasha Morrison is a Fuller grad with a DMin degree. She currently serves as an Associate Minister at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA. Her academic areas of interest include Black Church Studies, Black Theology, and Spiritual Formation (specifically the spiritual formation of African American ministry leaders serving in predominantly African American congregations.

Before stepping into this role, Dr. Morrison’s support and work have been invaluable. In her new role as Interim Director, she will provide leadership support to the Pannell Center and assist with projects with Fuller Equip (Black Church Studies Certificate), Black Spiritual Formation, and Alumni Engagement. She is excited not only to assist with the operation of the Pannell Center, but also to be a warm presence for our current students at Fuller.

Dr. Morrison officially began her new role on Monday, March 30, and will serve in this capacity while our Academic Dean, Dr. Radcliff, is on sabbatical. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved appointment!

Jaki Mathaga is living proof.
Originally from Kenya, she is using her Fuller training to support 1,800 parents of children with disabilities. After completing her master’s degree, she returned to pursue her doctorate—preparing to lead systemic change.
