Today, we honor the resilience, strength, and enduring legacy of those who fought for freedom and justice. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865—the day the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

As we celebrate freedom, let us also reflect on the ongoing journey toward equality, unity, and opportunity for all.
