Instructor Shaun performed a live nose waxing demo, then had students go through the service themselves so they could truly understand what it feels like. Experiencing it firsthand builds awareness of technique, timing, and client comfort—so they’re better prepared to deliver it safely, confidently, and with professionalism behind the chair.

If you’re interested in barbering, one of the best things you can do is start early and get your hands busy. Don’t wait until everything is “perfect” or until you turn 18 to begin learning.

Mistakes in the beginning aren’t setbacks—they’re part of the process. Every fade that’s uneven, every line that’s off, every adjustment you make builds real experience you can’t get from theory alone.

When you eventually attend barber school, everything connects faster. The theory actually makes sense because your hands have already felt it. You’re not just learning what to do—you understand why you’re doing it.

Start early. Practice often. Learn from every mistake.

Barber school requirements:
• Minimum age (usually 16–18+)
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid government ID
• Social Security Number (or ITIN)
• Completed enrollment application
• Tuition payment plan or financial aid setup
