www.successfund.com PMHS Welding is traveling to Abilene, TX, from Wed 05/06/26 through Sat 05/09/26. The district is covering all costs except for hotel, meals, and spending money. Students have earned this unique opportunity to compete against the best welding students in Texas.

🔥 SOUTHERN CLASSIC WELDING CERTIFICATION COMPETITION 🔥

Pasadena Memorial High School and Pasadena ISD CTE are proud to host the Southern Classic Welding Certification Competition, bringing together student welders from across the region to test their skills and earn industry-recognized certifications.
This event offers four levels of certification testing, from entry-level fillet welds to advanced open-root pipe welding under AWS and ASME standards.
Entry Fee: $20
🔧 Weld Tests Offered:
• Level 1 – AWS D9.1 (3F Fillet Weld – SMAW)
• Level 2 – AWS D1.1 (3G Groove w/ Backing – SMAW)
• Level 3 – ASME Section IX (3G Open Root – SMAW)
• Level 4 – ASME Section IX (5G Open Root Pipe – SMAW)
⏰ Scheduling Information:
Weld times are scheduled in advance. Participants must arrive 30 minutes early for check-in and safety orientation.
