We traveled to Los Angeles from the Midwest when our autistic son in his mid-twenties was accepted into an animation academy designed for animators and VFX artists on the autism spectrum. He struggles with executive functioning skills and other issues commonly seen in ASD, and also has anxiety issues. We sometimes think our move to Los Angeles was worth it just to have found Vital Brain Health, it has been such a promising, encouraging experience. As parents, we are especially reassured to know how completely safe this therapy is; it’s also nice to read that the research indicates that the positive effects of neurofeedback may continue even after the sessions end.
We are so thankful to have Dr. Licata and his team to do the research-based brain mapping and plan our son's neurofeedback sessions to help balance and strengthen his neurology. They continually asses his progress and modify the training as needed. Our son totally loves his visits to Vital Brain, the sessions are always a highlight of his week, and the entire team there is always so positive and supportive.
Even though our son still struggles with anxiety, EF, and other autism-related issues, he is already showing more fortitude in addressing his challenges, and showing self-confidence about his strengths beyond those issues, like he’s getting a sense that he can rise above them.
