Service Valley Charter Academy Our charter is designed to incorporate the exciting and opportunistic elements of rural life.

A K-8 charter school combining academic achievement through agricultural & environmental science inspiring students to become curious learners & environmental stewards while providing a rigorous, hands-on education that prepares them for future success. The economic strength of our region and of the state is agriculture, and a curriculum designed to incorporate agriculture-based technology with traditional educational values will serve to illustrate to children that there is real opportunity here in Kansas. There are many fascinating and enriching personal, academic, and career elements to rural life. We capitalize on teachable moments that are provided through our unique campus. SVCA is home to:

- Cattle
- Chickens
- Guineas
- Rabbits
- Pigs
- Horse

Our campus includes several acres, a tall grass prairie, a large barn, several gardens, and a state-of-the-art greenhouse.

8th grade wrapped up their first science unit with two labs- making ‘Monster Morsels’ and ‘Monster Muck’! We made pancakes and analyzed the various chemical and physical changes throughout the process. We also made “oobleck” and completed various tests to determine if it is a solid or a liquid. Fun fact: it’s a Non-Newtonian fluid! It doesn’t follow the rules of viscosity, and acts as a solid and a liquid depending on the amount of force applied.
