Duette Education Foundation, Inc. Formerly Education Foundation operating only one class public school in Florida. Now preserving hist Without Ms.

The mission of Duette Elementary today, as yesterday, is instilling in children a love of learning and the same family values that guided its former students to success in academics and in life. To fulfill that mission, the Duette Education Foundation, Inc. (DEFI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was formed in December 2009. Through a contract with the Manatee County School Board, renewable each year, DEFI operates Duette Elementary School. As a testament to the commitment of Duette School staff, Principal/Administrator Donna King generously has donated two full years of her time to the school to keep her dream for the future of the school alive. King’s selfless action, the doors of Duette School would have closed, and an 80-year tradition of exceptional education would have sadly ended.

Johnny Appleseed aka John O'Connor visits. We have been using apples to learn a lot of Science. Johnny had lunch with us and ate cooked apples. He had an apple for all the teachers!

My dear friend, Betty Fasig, (Woofer’s Woods)brought so much joy and wonderment to me, my students, friends, grand and great grandchildren. I know she’s well and I’ll see her again. What a joyful day when the students had a field trip to Woofer’s Woods. Im imagining her with Woofer by her side.

Due to the damage at Duette School Museum we are canceling the open house scheduled for October 8. We will reschedule later. Anyone wanting some oak wood just come to the school and bring your chainsaw.
