She showed us that another woman’s success never had to threaten your own. That you could cheer loudly for other women and still be wildly ambitious yourself. That you could be feminine and powerful. Soft and strong. Kind and confident. Have grit and grace. Wear all the rhinestones and still be the smartest woman in the room.

She knew who she was, built something extraordinary on her own terms, and never seemed to need another woman to be smaller so she could shine brighter.

And maybe that’s what I loved most about her.

Slow season doesn’t happen at the same time for every artist, but I can almost guarantee what happens when it hits.

I start getting messages from artists who are in the thick of it, worried something is wrong and ready to make drastic decisions because sales are down.

And I always push back.

Because what if you stopped looking at your slow season as something you need to fix and started looking at it as a gift?

The transactions might be slow. That doesn’t mean YOU have to be.

This is your opportunity to get busy working on the things you don’t have time for when you’re slammed. Your strategy. Your systems. Your marketing. Your numbers. The things that will make your next busy season more profitable and a whole lot less chaotic.

You can’t be in full ex*****on mode all year long. That’s a ticket to burn out.

So if find yourself in a slowdown, don’t waste the season panicking about it.
