Seeing this all over the news and honestly… we’re smiling over here. 😊
The Princess of Wales is traveling to Reggio Emilia, Italy, to study the internationally respected Reggio Emilia Approach to early childhood education.
This is the same philosophy that inspires our school every single day.
At our preschool, this means we believe:
✨ children are capable, curious, and full of potential
✨ relationships and community matter deeply
✨ the environment acts as a “third teacher”
✨ learning happens through exploration, creativity, collaboration, and meaningful experiences
✨ teachers are co-learners alongside children
What started in the small Italian town of Reggio Emilia has now influenced schools all over the world, and it’s exciting to see this approach receiving such global attention.
Sometimes people ask what “Reggio-inspired” means… and now the world is talking about it. ❤️🇮🇹
If you’ve ever walked through our halls and seen:
🎨 documentation panels
🌿 nature woven into learning
🧠 project work based on children’s ideas
💬 meaningful conversations and collaboration
✨ beauty, wonder, and creativity in the classroom
…then you’ve already experienced pieces of this philosophy in action.
We are proud to be a Reggio-inspired school right here in Parma and grateful to share this beautiful way of learning with children and families every day.

Like many businesses we sometimes find our name in groups and forums featuring venting and complaints.
That is today’s world.
But just in case you have questions regarding our schedule here is an official statement.
Our Philosophy on Time, Childhood, and Learning
At our school, we believe that young children thrive in strong, connected relationships with their families. Whenever possible, we believe children should spend their early years at home with caregivers, building those foundational bonds that support lifelong social-emotional development.
In alignment with this belief, we view preschool and kindergarten as most developmentally appropriate in a half-day format. Young children benefit from meaningful, focused school experiences paired with ample time at home for rest, play, and family life.
While we do offer a full-day option to support the needs of modern families, it is important to understand that we are a school—not a childcare program. Our days are intentionally designed around learning, inquiry, and community, rather than extended care.
Our four-day school week reflects this philosophy. By reserving Fridays, we create space for family time, rest, and connection. We also use these days to offer optional family events, encouraging caregivers to be active participants in their child’s school experience.
Additionally, our calendar includes school breaks, flexible scheduling, and frequent field trips. We believe that learning happens everywhere…in nature, in the community, and through real-world experiences. Because of this, we sometimes take advantage of meaningful opportunities as they arise—such as community events, seasonal experiences, or special days like Earth Day rather than strictly following a fixed calendar.
This flexibility is an intentional part of our approach. Families who value predictability in a traditional school schedule may find that our model feels different. We encourage prospective families to consider whether a program that embraces flexibility, spontaneous experiences, and time away from the classroom aligns with their needs and expectations.
Our approach is deeply aligned with the values of homeschooling and “unschooling” philosophies, where learning is driven by curiosity, relationships, and lived experiences. We see school as just one part of a child’s learning journey, not the center of it.
