MedTrack® seniors attended the Cleveland Clinic Emergency Nursing Symposium last week.

They networked with clinical professionals from across the state, participated in keynote addresses and seminars about keeping patients and staff safe, infectious disease case studies, and more. The students also had the opportunity to participate in triage and obstetric simulations.

Our MedTrack® sophomores recently completed the Allied Health Career Tour event. At this event, 14 healthcare professionals, including 10 alumni, came to Padua and engaged in small group discussions with our students about the career fields of Athletic Training, Biomedical Engineering, Child Life Specialist, Chiropractic Medicine, Nutrition & Dietetics, Genetic Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Social Work, and Speech Language Pathology.

Padua alum Ken Smith ’03 of CyberproAI made a presentation to Mrs. Morgan’s AP Cybersecurity class today.

This week, our MedTrack: Veterinary students trekked to the Cleveland MetroPark Zoo to tour the veterinary clinic with Dr. Mike Selig. The students explored all areas of the clinic from exam rooms to operating rooms and even interacted with the animals at the clinic for various health reasons. Dr. Selig shared his career path to exotic animal care and the students observed an elephant vet check and foot cleaning.

This week, 24 Bruins in the Padua Men's Ensemble and Mr. Joe Morel had a musical retreat/workshop with Professor Frank Bianchi at Baldwin Wallace University's Gamble Auditorium.

Professor Bianchi worked for 30 years as a high school choir director before starting the Baldwin Wallace Men's Chorus and directing that group for 17 years. He formerly directed the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus.

Professor Bianchi not only worked on vocal technique and music with the Bruins, but also, discussed the importance of brotherhood, community, and embracing opportunities to be vulnerable so we can grow.

Today is the Feast Day of St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, who lived from 1991-2006. He used his computer skills to create a website that tracked every known Eucharistic miracle in the world. He showed us that holiness can be lived in ordinary life…through prayer, going to Mass and quiet acts of charity. May he inspire us to use the gifts God has given us to share His love with others. St. Carlo, pray for us.
