We kicked off our Reading Is Magical Read-A-Thon today with an exciting performance by TadaMagician! Our Vikings had a magical time, and now it’s their turn to make some reading magic of their own! 🧙‍♂️📖

📚 Let’s get reading! If you haven’t already, create your student’s reader page and start logging those minutes! Every minute brings us closer to our school-wide goal of 35,000 minutes!

And remember, ALL reading counts! Whether your student is reading independently, listening to a story in class, or enjoying a book with someone special, every minute matters! 💜

🎃 Join us for John Muir’s first-ever Trunk or Treat!

Thursday, October 22
6:00–7:30 PM
John Muir Elementary School

Put on your costume, bring your trick-or-treat bag, and join us for an evening of candy, games and Halloween fun with our school community!

- Collect candy from decorated trunks.
- Check out the pumpkins that our John Muir Vikings decorated with their class!
- Enjoy Halloween games, coloring, temporary tattoos and a photo spot.
- Guess how much candy is in the jars, the winning guesses take home the candy!
- Join us for a scavenger hunt and enter to win lunch with Principal Randolph, provided by the PTA!

Popcorn & apple juice will be available for $1 each.

PTA members attend FREE!
Non-members: $6 per person.

✨📚 Something magical is coming to John Muir! 📚✨

Our PTA Read-A-Thon kicks off Monday, October 12, and we’re getting ready for two weeks of reading, fun, prizes and a little bit of magic along the way! 🪄

Read-A-Thon flyers are heading home this week, so be on the lookout for your child’s registration information and take a few minutes to set up their Reader Page before Monday.

Having those pages ready to go means students can hit the ground running next week — logging their reading minutes, working toward fun incentives, and helping us see just how much John Muir can read together! 📖

👀 We’ll be sharing more very soon about prizes, schoolwide challenges, special guests and all the fun we have planned.

Reading Is Magical — let’s get those Reader Pages ready! ✨

🎃 October is going to be a busy one at John Muir!

Fresh food, right here in our community! PCSD is partnering with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to offer FREE fresh produce and baked goods to all families and community members.

📍 Shiloh Middle School, 2303 Grantwood Dr.
📅 Thursday, Oct. 22 & Wednesday, Nov. 18
⏰ 4:30-6:30 p.m.

No ID, registration or proof of income needed! Food will be brought directly to your vehicle. Enter the side parking lot and follow the signs.

💙💛 What an incredible start to the school year!

September was a busy month for John Muir PTA, and we’re so grateful for all the ways our families have already shown up — by joining the PTA, supporting our fundraisers, attending events, volunteering their time, and helping us get some exciting things underway for the year ahead.

A special shoutout to our September volunteers — Erin F., Dennis V., Lauren E., Donna K., Davis E., Michelle O., Kristen H., Katey M., and Jennifer L. — who donated their time throughout the month to help make it all happen. We appreciate you! 💙

And we’re just getting started! ✨ We have so much more coming up this year, and there are plenty of ways to be part of it.

As mentioned in our previous message, we have continued to closely monitor weather conditions. Due to snow squalls in the area, forecasted lake-effect snow showers, and ongoing winter weather, all school and district activities will be canceled tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28. Please use extra caution if you must travel, and stay safe and warm.
