Hey Cardinal families. We are gearing up for the start of another AMAZING school year with two super cool activities on Sunday, August 23.

Join us as we Chalk the Walk with kind messages and encouraging words to welcome back teachers and staff. It's never too early to show our appreciation for all they!

Do you have a Kindergartner starting VCE? Meet us on the playground behind the school (parking lot side) for their very first playdate. The Junior Cardinal will be passing out popsicles as families connect and begin building community.

A fun discovery right outside our school! 🐛💚

The large planters out front have become home to at least five black swallowtail caterpillars! They've been happily munching away on the dill and parsley that Nurse Amanda Kisser planted, and they're now bright green and growing fast.

If all goes well, we may be welcoming some beautiful black swallowtail butterflies in the coming weeks. Be sure to take a peek the next time you're by the school, but remember to look and not touch, so our little visitors can continue their amazing transformation! 🦋

Attendance matters! Maryland state expectation is that each student attend school at least 94% of the school year. To help with planning, here are the days VCE is closed and/or has an early dismissal. Feel free to reach out to Ms. Cindy Sexton, our Community School Facilitator, with questions or concerns.
